A community cannot thrive when its citizens are not choosing a healthy way of life. Health problems affect our quality of life and productivity, making Be Healthy Burleson a vital priority for businesses, families, and community leaders. With this in mind, the Be Healthy Burleson Initiative established a Board of Directors in May 2016 consisting of those who have a passion for improving the health of our community. Our board consists of city representatives, business owners/managers, doctors, hospital representatives, and community members.
The purpose of the board is to lead efforts to improve the well-being of the community and promote the health, welfare, and safety of Burleson. The Be Healthy Board is responsible for planning and implementing health awareness throughout the community such as:
- Hosting the annual Be Healthy Burleson 5K / 10K / Fun Walk.
- Establish the Be Healthy Burleson certification program to be implemented in Burleson restaurants, schools, businesses, congregations, and grocery stores.
- Manage Be Healthy Burleson donations and finances.
- Provide and give support to health and wellness related opportunities to the community.
The possibilities are unlimited when we come together to make healthy living a priority in Burleson. By doing this, we will: boost business for health & wellness related companies, improve the quality of life in our community, increase citizen productivity, and form a sense of community as we work together to improve the health of our citizens.
