Be Healthy Burleson donation to Bikes for Angels

The Be Healthy Burleson Board of Directors made a $1,000 donation to Taylor and Norwood Elementary who participated in the Bikes for Angels program. This program provides bicycles to children during the holiday season. Bikes for Angels was founded in 2007 by Rick Curlee in the Mansfield ISD Auto Tech Program.  The idea came when the Principal asked Mr Curlee to help deliver angel tree presents because he had a bright red truck.  Rick and wife Dee had always bought angel tree gifts so he bought 3 random bikes to carry with them that afternoon.  When they came to the last house, there was only one present for each child.  The blessing was that the 3 random bikes just happened to fit each of those 3...

Be Healthy Burleson donation to the Careity Foundation

For the month of November, the Be Healthy Burleson Initiative promoted “No Shave November” as a way to raise cancer awareness. The goal of No-Shave November is to grow awareness by embracing our hair, which many cancer patients lose, and letting it grow wild and free. Be Healthy Burleson created “No Shave November” t-shirts to promote the cause. They encouraged the community to donate the money they usually spend on shaving and grooming for a month and buy a Be Healthy No Shave November t-shirt to support cancer prevention and aid for those fighting the battle!  The funds raised from t-shirt sales went directly to support local cancer patients through the Careity Foundation. The Careity foundation is a local nonprofit who aid cancer patients in Burleson. For...
